30 Day Juice Fast

30 Day Juice Fast: Day 9

Day 9 went great. I am not having trouble being around food, and in fact, I cooked an amazing dinner for my family and some relatives we had staying with us and was totally fine walking away to be by myself in the bedroom with a cup of tea and a new juicing book. While I’m okay around food, I’m not going to push it by sitting there and watching everyone eat. This is only for 30 days, and family meals are a part of our lifestyle, so I’m enjoying the quiet time while I have it, and looking forward to eating dinner again with my family when the fast is over.

My skin is still great, energy and outlook are off the charts, I continue to thin down, and my sleep is deep and restful. I definitely see a difference in my memory. I don’t have to stop and think of the answer to every question when asked. I feel great!

About my new book. I just got it yesterday. It’s called Juice Fasting & Detoxification by Steve Meyerowitz. I figured it would help to have something to keep me inspired until the half-way mark, WHICH IS ONLY IN FIVE DAYS, and it looks really good. I’m sure I’ll learn all kinds of new stuff, which I can then impart to you. Most of the things I’ve been writing about juice fasting during this extended fast have been the result of reading many fasting, nutrition and raw food books over the last 2 years. It will be nice to have some fresh knowledge.

What I drank:
Grapefruit juice
Lots of tea
1/2 gallon purified water
Carrot juice
1 cup of broth

I like to start out in the morning with a vegetable juice that has at least 1 fruit in it, if not two. Then the rest of the day I stick to mostly vegetables, with an occasional fruit. Right now, I’ve been juicing fruits and veggies and drinking them by themselves.

Tomorrow I’ll give you a great recipe for homemade vegetable broth. You can make one batch, and then have a mug of it at night in the place of dinner, and it will last several days. Good stuff.
